Physician Assistant - Surgical under the direction of physician, performs first assistant surgical duties, including tissue retraction and suturing. Completes pre-op tasks including physical examinations and recording health history. Being a Physician Assistant - Surgical orders appropriate laboratory and radiographic tests. Participates in daily patient rounds, writes progress notes, conducts patient education, writes prescriptions, and prepares discharge summaries Requires completion of the PANCE exam administered by National Commission of the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Additionally, Physician Assistant - Surgical requires a master's degree of Health Sciences for Physician Assistants or related. Typically reports to a physician. This position will support our primary care, family practice clinic. The clinic is located in Fairbanks, Alaska and is uniquely aligned with employers and health trusts to provide the best in class primary and family care to the patients we serve. The clinic is appointment and walk-in based and supports family care to include chronic disease management, acute injury, and illness.
The clinic sees patients 5 years of age and up and is a comprehensive primary care clinic. Scope of services range from X-ray, minor in-office procedures, onsite medication dispensary, chronic disease management, women’s care, sports physicals, and immunizations to name a few.

Provides acute and occupational medical care to patients. Performs occupational surveillance testing (audiograms, pulmonary function tests, physicals, drug test collections etc.) both within the Anchorage based clinics and onsite as necessary.
Principal Accountabilities:
Minimum 3-5 years relevant family practice and urgent care experience
Active Alaska License for PA or NP
Maintains professional certification with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and State of Alaska licensure (or eligible to apply of State of AK Lic.).
Maintains emergency medicine skills through specific training (Advanced Cardiac Life Support).
Have or obtain appropriate certifications in Occupational Medicine Testing and CAOHC and NIOSH.
Offer contingent upon ability to pass a pre-employment drug testing (federal panel), physical exam, background check, and motor vehicle report.
