Physician Assistant - Surgical jobs in Pierre, SD
Physician Assistant - Surgical under the direction of physician, performs first assistant surgical duties, including tissue retraction and suturing. Completes pre-op tasks including physical examinations and recording health history. Being a Physician Assistant - Surgical orders appropriate laboratory and radiographic tests. Participates in daily patient rounds, writes progress notes, conducts patient education, writes prescriptions, and prepares discharge summaries Requires completion of the PANCE exam administered by National Commission of the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Additionally, Physician Assistant - Surgical requires a master's degree of Health Sciences for Physician Assistants or related. Typically reports to a physician. Requires Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C). Requires State license to practice. Physician Assistant - Surgical's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Avera is currently seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) looking to deliver the best possible care in Avera's patient-focused settings.Job Summary Assumes responsibility and accountability for the provision of primary health care, medical management and education in collaboration with a physician.
Physician Assistants practice under the rules and regulations for Physician Assistants in the state in which they work. Education and/or Experience Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program required.CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, and/or REGISTRATIONS Licensure as a Physician Assistant and ability to practice in the state of South Dakota required.
Federal and State DEA certification is required for South Dakota. National Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required.Work Schedule Monday-Friday; 72 hours/2 weeks 1 night per week and 1 in 5 weekends on call; rotating holidays.
