Physician Assistant - Surgical under the direction of physician, performs first assistant surgical duties, including tissue retraction and suturing. Completes pre-op tasks including physical examinations and recording health history. Being a Physician Assistant - Surgical orders appropriate laboratory and radiographic tests. Participates in daily patient rounds, writes progress notes, conducts patient education, writes prescriptions, and prepares discharge summaries Requires completion of the PANCE exam administered by National Commission of the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Additionally, Physician Assistant - Surgical requires a master's degree of Health Sciences for Physician Assistants or related. Typically reports to a physician. Requires Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C). Requires State license to practice. Physician Assistant - Surgical's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Position: Physician Assistant
Lexington Family Physicians is a busy, private, group family practice, looking for a motivated PA to add to our staff. Experience not necessary. Will consider new graduates. Must have graduated from an accredited PA program. The position is full time. Hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and 1:00pm to 7:00pm Thursday. Call is minimal - telephone only, approximately 1 weekend per month, 1 day per week. NCCPA certification required, DEA license or eligible.
Compensation includes paid vacation, CME allowance, and coverage for licensure fees, medical insurance, and 401k with company match.

Duties include:- Interview and examine patients to determine a diagnosis.
- Order tests to ascertain the nature and extent of illnesses and injuries.
- Prescribe medications and suggest lifestyle changes to remedy medical problems.
- Stitch wounds and perform minor office procedures as indicated
- Maintain patient records and provide documentation for insurance companies.
