Physician Assistant - Surgical jobs in Wilmington, DE

Our company is looking for a highly motivated Surgical Physician Assistant to join our dynamic team.

Responsibilities:

• Strong organization and documentation skills.
• Good problem solving and/or decision making skills.  
• Ability to react and perform under strict timelines and/or emergency situations.
• Frequent pre-op and post-op patient positioning
• Excellent verbal and written communication skiills
• Display professional competency in the OR.
• Provide health care services to patients under the direction and responsiblility of physician including assessing and educating patients.
• First assist surgeon in the operating room: Must be a trained individual able to participate in and actively assist surgeon in completing the operation safely and expeditiously.
• Ability to scrub and assist in multiple specialties including:  Orthopedics, Trauma, Neurology, Robotics, Vascular, Urology, Colorectal, Breast, General, and Burn. 
• Must be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate surgeon's preferences, specialty supplies, instrumentation and equipment.
• Identify and provide teaching for patient, families, and other health care providers.
• Frequent lifting to 20 lbs in addition to bending , reaching, standing, walking, and kneeling

Requirements:

• 2 years working as a First Assistant in the operating room is preferred.  Robotic training is a plus. 
• Pennsylvania licensure and certification as a PA-C
• Surgical Critical Care experience
• BLS, ACLS required, ATLS preferred
