    • EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    Graduate of a four-year high school or equivalent.

    At least one year of clerical or data entry or a minimum of three years’ work experience.
    *
    Ability to maintain confidentiality of information pertaining to participants and employees.
    *
    Ability to operate and maintain office equipment.
    *
    Ability to interact appropriately with participants, staff, Illinois Department on Aging, Area Agency on Aging, and other aging entities.

    SUMMARY:

    Under the direction of the Supervisor of the Care Coordination Unit who reports directly to the Director of Case Coordination Unit Services. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for the performance of clerical and data entry activities, answering phones, scheduling visits for Care Managers, and participant monthly monitoring.

    FUNCTIONS:

    Assisting and managing Home Delivered Meals program. Working closely with Open Kitchens and case managers.

    Responsible for answering the telephone, taking messages, distributing items to staff and retrieving messages from the answering machine.

    Responsible for incoming mail, date stamping, distribution, and outgoing mail.

    Responsible for file maintenance, assembling files.

    Responsible for ordering and maintaining adequate forms and office supplies.

    Responsible for the development, maintenance, and distribution of a directory of available senior services.

    Responsible for oversight of office equipment upkeep and supplies.

    Attends 15 hours of training related to Aging and Disability.

    Other duties as assigned.
