  • Northstar Dermatology
  • North Richland Hills, TX FULL_TIME
  • Thank you for your interest in applying to Northstar Dermatology! Before you submit your resume, read through the description below to determine if we are the type of practice you are looking to join, and to see if you are compatible with our vision and our team.

    WHAT WE DO

We know skin matters – not just for all of its physiologic qualities, but for the identity and confidence it imbues us. After all, our skin is how the world sees us. As the leading Dermatology practice in North Texas, we are your home for all things skin. We heal people, we restore confidence, and we empower our patients with knowledge of prevention. We practice up-to-date medicine that is grounded in evidence, in an environment free of industry or social influence. You won’t walk into a lobby filled with cosmetic marketing posters or be swayed to buy products you don’t need. We prescribe treatments tailored to you with cost, time, and your lifestyle in mind.

    WHAT OUR PATIENTS CAN EXPECT

Your experience at Northstar Dermatology is going to be totally unexpected in the best possible way. An office that is surprisingly efficient in everything we do, a compassionate team who lives by our values of integrity and accountability, and total transparency in our practice. Our goal is to change the way healthcare is delivered – to be different. The world is changing and we’re adapting with it. Convenience matters. Simplicity in communication matters. Accessibility matters. We are constantly innovating, seeking to reinvent, and working to be better to accommodate our patients’ ever-evolving needs.

    OUR VALUES

Our core values are the foundation of everything we do at Northstar Dermatology. Every member of our team not only believes in our core values, but lives them.

    1. Be even better: Make large strides through small steps. The key to success is consistent action. Don’t be afraid to reimagine life and to transform. Embrace relentless self-cultivation and continuous education.

    2. Act intentionally: Every action should be performed deliberately and with intention. Eliminate unnecessary steps, simplify processes, delegate duties that may be done better by others, and batch your time. In summary, work smarter and not harder.

    3. 100 % Authentic: We work to promote open, honest conversation in a professional tone and judgment free environment. Our staff, patients, and family all deserve the respect of an explanation.

    4. Own It! Own your intentions, your words, and your deeds. Accountability means you make a promise and follow through. Integrity implies doing the right thing when no one is looking.

    OUR TEAM

Simply put - everyone on our team is a rockstar. We are honored and proud to have doctors that come from the top programs in the country such as Harvard Medical School and UT Southwestern. All of our providers are incredibly smart, but more importantly, they are genuinely great people to work with. We also proudly recognize that our staff is the reason for our growth and success! Our medical assistants, patient coordinators, and billing department are made up of hard working, resilient, innovative people who strive to make our practice better each day. Complacency is not in our blood. We’re always challenging ourselves and challenging each other to offer the best care and to create an unexpectedly positive experience for our patients.

We also recognize the capabilities of our team members and we like to put their talents and skills to use. At Northstar Dermatology, you aren’t “just a receptionist” or “just a medical assistant,” and we’ll never treat you as such. We believe our employees feel more fulfilled in their job roles when they are challenged and provided the opportunity to make a real difference. This means you will be expected to do more, and think on a higher level than “just a receptionist” or “just a medical assistant.” Additionally, we know that our employees are the best source of feedback to determine what is working well in our day, and what needs improvement. As mentioned in our core values above, our employees are expected to strive to “Be Better” and to be “Efficient”, and everyone is required to provide feedback on how we can improve existing processes or offer better care.

A day in the life of a Patient Coordinator:

You are a “people-person” who loves to interact and talk to people. You are relatable, approachable, kind, and have great communication skills. You are detail-oriented, a critical thinker, and a quick decision-maker.

As a Patient Coordinator, you are the face of our practice and the first opportunity to “WOW” a patient. Your main responsibility is to create an unexpectedly warm and welcoming experience for every patient you interact with, whether that be in person, virtually, or over the phone.

Our Patient Coordinators are also responsible for the flow of the entire clinic. Every move they make affects not only the front office, but the back office and providers as well.

    Other daily tasks will include:

    • Greeting patients and ensuring registration is completed quickly for a timely check-in
    • Educating patients on their insurance benefits and collecting payments
    • Managing our schedule and strategically scheduling appointments
    • Answering phone calls to handle patient inquiries using top-notch phone etiquette
    • Processing incoming referrals and coordinating with our referring offices
    • Educating patients on skin care products for purchase

These tasks are not difficult per say, but as we alluded to before, we are not your average medical practice. Our patient coordinators use critical thinking, strategy, and team-work to ensure our clinic operates perfectly and our patients are blown away by their experience. One important fact to note - dermatology is a high-volume medical specialty (meaning we see a LOT of patients each day), so to succeed in our clinic, you must be someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment without being overwhelmed.

Additionally, we offer the opportunity for our patient coordinators to gain leadership experience by means of a rotating “lead” position. As a lead, you’ll be the “go-to” person to help your teammates, and delegate when needed to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently. Finally, we are excited to share that patient coordinators will also have the chance to broaden their knowledge of dermatology by rotating through our back office and learning certain clinical skills.

Patients often comment on how much they love our patient coordinators – and we couldn’t agree more! Our front office team works really hard to ensure our patients have a great experience, and they do it all with style and grace.

Well, what do you think? Do you still think this is the company for you? Do you feel aligned with our values? Do you see yourself meeting the expectations set for our team members? Are you ready to learn a lot, move quickly, and contribute to changing the world of healthcare? If yes, we hope that you’ll submit your resume to apply for the position! Once we review resumes, we will select a number of candidates to move to the next step of our application process - a video interview.
