Physician - Dermatology examines and diagnoses disorders and diseases of the human skin. Prescribes and administers patient medications. Being a Physician - Dermatology performs a variety of laboratory procedures, examines sample tissues, and uses various biological and chemical analyses to identify harmful organisms or pathological conditions. Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment. Additionally, Physician - Dermatology requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director. Physician - Dermatology's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare professionals in providing patient care and treatment
- Perform vital signs measurements, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
- Collect and record patient information, including medical history and symptoms
- Perform medical administrative support tasks, such as scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records
- Assist with medical coding and billing processes
Experience:
- Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant or in a similar healthcare role is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Familiarity with medical administrative tasks, such as scheduling and record keeping
- Experience with patient care in a hospital or clinical setting
- Ability to perform basic X-ray procedures (if applicable)
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems
Skills:
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals
- Attention to detail to accurately record patient information and perform medical coding tasks
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of medical terminology to understand and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals
- Proficiency in administering medications, including inhalation techniques if required
- Excellent customer service skills to provide compassionate patient care
