JOB SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Clinical Operations Manager and designated Lead Medical Assistant(s), the Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for a variety of patient care, technical, and clerical related functions. The MA is responsible for the clinic patient flow by assisting members of the patient care team and providing a broad range of health care services. The MA may also be involved in the training and guidance of clinical staff. As a member of the patient care team, the MA is also aware of the psychosocial needs of patients and families.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform Direct Patient Care:
Provide patient care under the supervision of a provider relative to the patient's age-specific needs and under various conditions. As an unlicensed assistant, the performance of a delegated medical act by the MA must be "directed, supervised, and inspected" by the provider.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Must be able to stand for long periods of time as well as walking frequently. Exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Must be able to observe safe practice criteria in assisting patients and must be able to safely support full weight of a patient when necessary.
