Physician - Dermatology examines and diagnoses disorders and diseases of the human skin. Prescribes and administers patient medications. Being a Physician - Dermatology performs a variety of laboratory procedures, examines sample tissues, and uses various biological and chemical analyses to identify harmful organisms or pathological conditions. Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment. Additionally, Physician - Dermatology requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director. Physician - Dermatology's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. The Department of Dermatology is currently providing clinical services to the community of
NW Ohio and SE Michigan for all areas or specialties of dermatologic disorders. An important
aspect of the mission of the University of Toledo College of Mission and Life Sciences is
educating students, residents and fellows as well as developing research programs related to
dermatologic disorders.
The faculty member must be an MD/DO who has successfully completed a residency in
dermatology as well as a fellowship (if applicable). The candidate must be Board Certified or
become Board Certified within 3 years of recruitment. He/she must meet all the institutional
requirements for appointment to Assistant Professor.
This position works in an academic and clinical setting.
