The 6 Degrees Resale Store is looking for a mission-inspired leader to join our team as Assistant Store Manager. 6 Degrees is a local, community based thrift store that sells gently used goods with the proceeds supporting the functions of Emergency Shelter Services' women and family shelter. 6 Degrees plays a vital role in helping end homelessness in Berrien County, MI.

The assistant store manager will assist with:

• The overall day-to-day operations of the resale store
• Maintenance of the store, equipment, and its supplies
• Stocking, maintaining, and displaying inventory for the store to optimize revenue generation
• Creating and maintaining a positive and safe atmosphere for both workers and customers alike
• Performing all requested bookkeeping, accounting and reporting requirements on a timely basis
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must have valid driver's license
• Previous experience in retail required
• Sophisticated profit and loss capability, sales, and marketing skills
• Proficiency in setting and managing schedules for store staff
• Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, bending, lifting, kneeling, and climbing for prolonged period of time
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds frequently
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Highly developed sense of customer-service and interpersonal skills including high integrity, respect for all individuals, strong critical and analytical thinking skills, and an appreciation for diversity
• Ability to complete necessary paperwork and reports in a timely manner
• Ability to motivate a team
• Ability to exercise good judgement in handling day-to-day situations.
• Any other duties as assigned
