Physician - Endocrinology examines and diagnoses hormone disorders and diseases and specializes in management of hormone conditions. Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment. Being a Physician - Endocrinology recommends and orders tests to determine extent of illness or help diagnose condition. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Additionally, Physician - Endocrinology requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director. The Endocrinology practice is primarily outpatient, with opportunities to participate in multidisciplinary clinics (such as Neuroendocrine & High Risk Osteoporosis), work closely with skilled pituitary and head/neck surgeons, and perform ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration biopsies. Diabetes care is provided utilizing a team-based approach alongside Advanced Practice Providers and on-site Certified Diabetes Educators and Nutritionists.
