PURPOSE:
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the administration of employee relations, performance
management, benefits, leaves, and compliance, and effectively communicating company policies and practices
to employees and managers.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The
requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
1. Assists management with performance concerns, disciplinary action and conflict management issues.
Counsel managers and employees consistent with company policies/practices, legal considerations,
etc. and facilitate resolution of employee relations issues.
2. Works with the HR Manager to resolve employee relations issues, including but not limited to,
workplace conflicts, and investigations.
3. Maintains knowledge and skills related to trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new
technologies in human resources, compliance, and employment law.
4. Manage the workers’ compensation program, including claim management, proactive interface with
the Employee Health and Safety Manager, and
5. Manage leaves of absences, ensuring compliance with FMLA, CFRA, ADAAA, Workers’ Compensation
and other statutes or policies related to leaves.
6. Commitment to a professional work environment and process improvement.
7. Assist the HR Manager with workplace investigations.
8. Maintain HR metrics and reports for HR Manager, and provide analysis and data driven
recommendations.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
1. High School Diploma and 2 years of relevant experience required.
2. B.A./B.S. in business, management, or related field strongly preferred.
3. PHR certificate or equivalent strongly preferred.
4. Bilingual (English-Spanish) required.
