Physician - Hematology/Oncology examines and diagnoses disorders and diseases of the blood, bone marrow, vascular and immune system. Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment. Being a Physician - Hematology/Oncology recommends and orders tests to determine extent of illness or help diagnose condition. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Additionally, Physician - Hematology/Oncology requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
Active ambulatory care practitioner with eligibility or certification by a board recognized by the American Board of Specialties.
Expectation is to be in clinic treating patients nine half day sessions per week with one half day per week set aside for administrative duties.
Participation in evening and weekend phone call coverage and attend any meeting deemed necessary by the Medical Director.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Must have a MD or DO degree and a current and unrestricted license to practice in the State of Texas.
Registration with Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA); Certification with American Heart Associate in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) every two years;
Administrative experience.
