Emerging Infectious Disease Training Specialist

    Under the direction of the Director of Emerging Infectious Disease (EID) & Pandemic Preparedness, the EID & Pandemic Preparedness Training Specialist supports the management of the EID and pandemic preparedness program to include, but not limited to: employee outreach and education, development and maintenance of response tools, resources, and training materials, development and maintenance of policies & standard operating procedures, and collaboration/coordination with diverse multidisciplinary teams (internal and external). The Training Specialist will: * Plan, facilitate, and evaluate staff training to ensure response readiness for emerging infectious diseases and pandemics. * Ensure program meets deliverables, as set by the program steering committee * Contribute to UCLA Health's vision and mission by creating a healing environment for patients hospitalized for an emerging infectious disease, while providing a safe environment for the staff caring for the patient (inclusive of the physical space, personal protection, training, and protocols). * Incorporate equity, diversity and inclusion principles in emerging infectious disease and pandemic preparedness. Salary: $74,200-$147,000 Annually
    Qualifications

    * Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Environmental Health & Safety, Public Health or related field * Demonstrated knowledge and experience of development, implementation, and evaluation of employee training programs. * Healthcare experience, managing complex projects with diverse stakeholders * Expertise in developing risk reduction strategies to improve safety of both patients and employees. * Demonstrated project management skills to implement a diverse and complex training program that includes discussion-based (e.g. tabletop, PPT presentations) and operations-based exercises (e.g. drills, functional exercises, full-scale exercises & simulations). * Experience responding to emergency situations and supporting internal and external responders to include executive leadership. * Experience in aspects of emergency management, safety, occupational health, epidemiology, or infection prevention. * Experience in data collection and synthesis of information into intelligence briefings for diverse audiences and working with stakeholders to develop organizational response recommendations. * Experience working with diverse audiences to capture best practice opportunities and develop departmental and organizational response plans. * Ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written forms with diverse audiences to ensure messaging and outreach of strategic initiatives. * Demonstrates a leadership style that builds and maintains a climate of trust and inspires commitment from others to achieve organization goals. * Consistently interacts with all members of the organization in ways that enhance understanding, respect, cooperation and problem solving. * Recognizes the need for change; adapts to, and causes others to adapt to values, strategies, goals and plans in response to changing business conditions. Experience with process improvement, including planning, setting priorities, systematic performance assessment, and implementation based on such assessment, and maintaining achieved improvement.
