Physician - Nuclear Medicine uses radioactive materials to diagnose and treat disease. Monitors quality control of radionuclide preparation, administration and disposition, and ensures that all activities comply with the standards of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Being a Physician - Nuclear Medicine instructs and directs nuclear medicine technologists regarding desired dosages, techniques, positions, and projections. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Additionally, Physician - Nuclear Medicine requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education: Graduate of an accredited radiologic and/or nuclear medicine technology program.

License/Certifications: Current license from the State of Maine as a Radiologic Technologist. Must be credentialed by either the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).

Experience: Progressive experience and demonstrated technical knowledge in Nuclear Medicine Technology preferred.
