Physician - Nuclear Medicine uses radioactive materials to diagnose and treat disease. Monitors quality control of radionuclide preparation, administration and disposition, and ensures that all activities comply with the standards of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Being a Physician - Nuclear Medicine instructs and directs nuclear medicine technologists regarding desired dosages, techniques, positions, and projections. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Additionally, Physician - Nuclear Medicine requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director. Responsible for ensuring the delivery of quality healthcare in Imaging Services and assist in the performance of other duties. Promotes service excellence. Responsible for all duties in maintaining documentation for licensure by the State of Georgia.
Completion of training program specific to Nuclear Medicine technology which allows certification.
Currently registry eligible with ARRT or NMTCB. Must be registered with ARRT or NMTCB within 12 months. Current AHA/ARC BLS certification.
Utilizes a variety of standard Nuclear Medicine Gamma Cameras and Computer processors. Able to utilize office equipment and supplies.
Successful candidates will be subject to criminal background and drug screens.
