Physician - Nuclear Medicine uses radioactive materials to diagnose and treat disease. Monitors quality control of radionuclide preparation, administration and disposition, and ensures that all activities comply with the standards of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Being a Physician - Nuclear Medicine instructs and directs nuclear medicine technologists regarding desired dosages, techniques, positions, and projections. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Additionally, Physician - Nuclear Medicine requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director. Qualifications & Responsibilities
Provide direction and leadership for the medical program in collaboration with the Health Services Administrator.
Provide a variety of professional medical services to inmates to include administering examinations, diagnosing medical and other problems, prescribing medications and providing treatment and follow-up care.
Provide direction and leadership for the medical program in collaboration with the Health Services Administrator.
Monitor and review operations and standards of care delivered to inmates.
Make clinic rounds
Participate in treatment team meetings where individual health plans of inmates are devised, reviewed and altered.
Closely monitor all potential catastrophic illnesses.
Must have active Arizona license, DEA, BLS and/or ACLS.
