Physician - Occupational Medicine oversees the patient's diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of occupational illnesses and/or injury. Prepares patients for return to work after illness or injury or may act as a consultant to identify workplace health hazards. Being a Physician - Occupational Medicine examines patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment. Recommends tests to determine extent of illness or help diagnose condition. Additionally, Physician - Occupational Medicine requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director. Summary:
In this role, your main focus will be to assess patient needs and offer comprehensive treatments. As a provider, your responsibilities will include diagnosing and providing treatment for injuries that occur in the workplace, conducting physical examinations for pre-placements, Department of Transportation, public safety, and surveillance purposes on behalf of private companies and government agencies. Additionally, you will evaluate and treat urgent care patients on a walk-in basis. You will perform various in-office procedures, maintain communication with employers, and offer medical guidance as needed. Also, you may take on a role overseeing, collaborating with, and supervising advanced practice providers.
