Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Optometrist to join our team. As an Optometrist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services to patients of all ages. Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity and detect any ocular abnormalities or diseases
- Diagnose and treat various eye conditions, such as refractive errors, glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration
- Prescribe corrective lenses, contact lenses, and other visual aids as needed
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices, including hygiene, nutrition, and lifestyle choices
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic medical record systems (e.g., Epic)
- Stay informed about advancements in optometry and participate in continuing education to enhance knowledge and skills
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology related to the eyes
- Proficiency in ophthalmology procedures and techniques
- Familiarity with medical coding and billing practices
- Experience working with electronic medical record systems (e.g., Epic)
- Ability to maintain aseptic technique during procedures
- Excellent understanding of medical terminology related to optometry
- Exceptional patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for managing medical records and documentation
- Knowledge of senior care practices is a plus
