Physician - Otolaryngology examines, diagnoses and treats disorders, diseases, and injuries of the ear, nose and throat. Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment. Being a Physician - Otolaryngology recommends and orders tests to determine extent of disease or help diagnose condition. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Additionally, Physician - Otolaryngology requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director. Physician - Otolaryngology's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Assistant Professor - Otolaryngology

  • ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
    The person in this position is responsible for providing direct patient care, specializing in otorhinolaryngology, including surgery, consultative services, outpatient services and care of hospitalized patients. He/she participates in all teaching activities of the Department including conference and lectures, bedside teaching and rounds; house staff supervision in the operating room, clinics and inpatient services; continuing medical education; and local, regional and national meetings. Students include medical students, house staff, nursing students and allied health students. He/she is also responsible for advancing clinical knowledge through is/her scholarly and research efforts and will participate in either basic research (laboratory) or clinical research and publication of scientific articles. In addition, the person in this position will have administrative responsibilities including supervising and evaluating residents, providing medical direction and participating in committee memberships at the departmental and health system levels.  

    This position will be deployed in Galveston, Texas City, TDC, and League City clinics with OR at Jennie Sealy.  


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    Candidate should be a graduate of an accredited medical school, have completed an ACGME approved residency training program in otolaryngology, be Certified/Board Eligible in Otolaryngology and be eligible for or have a Texas Medical License without restrictions.
