Summary of Position

Physician Assistant practices medicine under the supervision of a physician/surgeon within their scope of practice and in accordance with Florida Laws and specific privileges granted by any hospital that has issued such privileges. This individual will work closely with Physician and staff to perform required clinical duties. In addition, this individual works closely with surgeons in the operating room during a surgical procedure.

• Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and implement a plan of care
• Order, interpret and provide follow up on diagnostic studies
• First assist the surgeon in the operating room
• Provide medical care in accordance with accepted practice standards
• Provide patient and family education and instructions before/after procedures
• Perform rounds on hospital inpatients
• On call responsibility

Qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program
• Previous experience in spine and/or pain preferred
