Physician - Pain Medicine specializes in pain management. Examines patients to determine discomfort level and cause of pain. Being a Physician - Pain Medicine recommends tests to determine extent of pain, help diagnose condition, or manage pain. Provides relief from acute or chronic pain through the use of medications, nerve blocks, electrical stimulation, or other therapies. Additionally, Physician - Pain Medicine requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director.
