The Pathology Assistant is an allied health professional, qualified by academic and practical training to provide service in anatomic pathology under the direction and supervision of a qualified board-certified anatomic Pathologist. The Pathologists' Assistant is responsible for performing the gross description and dissection of surgical specimens, or photograph specimens, performs frozen section procedures and participates in a variety of departmental activities and services; in addition, to the planning, organization, and maintenance of the autopsy suite. The Pathologists' Assistant ensures that timely and accurate clinical diagnostic information is provided to healthcare professionals so that patient care and customer service is of the highest quality.
