Physician - Pediatric Cardiology jobs in Grand Rapids, MI
Physician - Pediatric Cardiology detects and treats heart and blood vessel disease in infants, children, and teenagers. Conducts physical exams, which may include an X-ray, electrocardiogram, Doppler echocardiography, exercise testing, or blood tests. Being a Physician - Pediatric Cardiology detects abnormalities, plans treatment, and refers critical patients to a cardiac surgeon. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Additionally, Physician - Pediatric Cardiology requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director. With principal investigator oversight, prepares, evaluates and implements research studies to enhance the advancement of clinical practice; effectively manages all aspects of research studies.
Essential Functions
Plans and executes experiments under direct supervision.
Calculates, analyzes and interprets data collected for presentation to mentor (Investigator). Discusses with mentor alterations of experimental procedures and carries out approved changes.
In conjunction with mentor, prepares manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals and abstracts and posters for presentation at scientific meetings.
Reviews current literature to keep abreast of changing scientific theories, techniques and their effects on the current experiments. Discuss new issues in the literature with mentor.
Maintains accurate and legible notebook for recording of all aspects of experimental protocols and equipment requirements.
Participates in and/or leads regular research quality management activities to ensure research studies are in compliance with federal, state, and local law, GCP, contracts, and institutional policies.
May participate in ongoing clinical care as part of a formal SH GME training program.
May participate in all functions of research (bench, clinical and/or translational).
