    Overview

    Psychology Position – Neonatology

     

    The Division of Developmental and Behavioral Health at Children’s Mercy Kansas City is recruiting a pediatric psychologist to work with our Division of Neonatology. The psychologist’s role will include 1) providing consultation, assessment, and intervention to infants and their families in our 84 bed, Level 4 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, 2) providing developmental assessment in Neonatology’s follow up clinic, and 3) collaborating with physician colleagues and Neonatology providers and staff on programmatic efforts to provide developmental support, screening, and behavioral health resources to the patients and families served by Neonatology.

    This position includes teaching and supervising in the hospital’s pediatric medical and psychology training programs, including our APA-accredited psychology internship. Protected time for research, program development, teaching and other scholarly activities is established based on the specific requirements of the position and the candidate’s experience, interests, and goals. This position carries an academic appointment at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, with rank commensurate to qualifications and experience.

    Applicants must have:

    • A PhD (or equivalent) in clinical psychology, pediatric psychology, or clinical child psychology
    • Completion of an internship at an APA-accredited internship program with a focus on child psychology
    • Relevant experience
    • Eligibility for licensure in Missouri and Kansas

    The Division of Developmental and Behavioral Health at Children’s Mercy is growing and expanding programs as part of the institution’s Mental and Behavioral Health Strategic Plan.  We offer a dynamic and collegial work environment that includes 55 psychologists, 9 developmental pediatricians, 8 child and adolescent psychiatrists, master’s and doctoral level board certified behavior analysts, and other allied health professionals who work together to provide outstanding mental and behavioral health care to youth in our region and beyond.  This position includes a competitive salary and benefits package.
