Being a Physician - Podiatry recommends and orders tests to determine extent of illness or help diagnose condition. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. This nurse will be responsible for assisting the podiatry nurse practitioner with in-office procedures performing nail trimming and callus care. Other duties include, but are not limited to rooming patients, taking vitals, ordering medications and labs, answering phone calls, and assisting with application of casts and splints. This nurse will undergo online training and must pass the certification specific for podiatry within two months of the hire date.
The nurse must be able to demonstrate communication skills to customers and patients of all ages, as we would also expect a portion of their time reserved for triage of all incoming phone calls that require Orthopaedic nursing attention, communication and assistance to/with providers and patients, while demonstrating professional and respectful phone etiquette and communication with providers, staff and patient
