Middletown to Dover Vicinity: We are looking for an energetic medical assistant who has had 3 years experience minimum in a busy medical practice. Willingness to travel between Middletown and Dover offices is necessary. Brandywine Podiatry believes in patient care excellence. We are the largest Podiatry practice in Delaware.

Job Summary

The role of the Medical Assistant is to help guide patients through their care and treatment with Brandywine Podiatry. In this role, you will perform comprehensive intake, relay information to doctors and other colleagues and maintain an integral line of communication between patients, doctors and administrators. As you advance, you will perform higher level duties including the management of customized equipment orders, drawing injections and assist in surgeries.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Greeting patients and escorting them to a treatment room
• Creating accurate medical records through proper intake and follow-up procedures
• Handing off the patient Chief Complaint and relevant information to the doctor
• Escorting patients to the check-out counter
• Assist in getting the route slip from the doctor to the check-out counter
• Clean and stock treatment rooms
• Dispense DME items to patients at doctor’s direction
• Clean and sterilize instruments using the autoclave
• Order and fit Custom DME
• Order supplies and ensure sufficient stock of medical materials for the office
• Receive supply orders and verify those orders for accuracy
• Draw prepared injections for the doctors
• Superior medical documentation
• Superior use and understanding of EMH
• Handle higher-level patient interactions as assigned
• Cross-train with operations tasks such as insurance authorization and referrals.
• Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• Previous experience in Medical Assisting or Healthcare (Required)
• 3-5 years total work experience (Required)
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation (Required)
• Some college or professional training in medical field (Preferred)

• Ability to lift 15-25 pounds

• Ability to work extended periods of standing
• Ability to work extended periods of walking

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
