  • Program overview:

    To direct the internal operations of quality, service performance and delivery, and assure compliance with all state departments in accordance with SDS value statements. The Director of Operations position supervises all of these programs – Residential, Community Integrated employment, Community participation, Supported Living Services, Nursing, Maintenance and Transportation.

    Qualifications:

    1. Valid Colorado license with acceptable driving record.

    2. Acceptable criminal background check.

    3. Acceptable negative drug test.

    4. Five years of managerial experience preferred

    5. Bachelor’s degree

    Job Functions:

    1. Assure overall program quality and that Federal, State and SDS requirements are met.

    2. Will review all agencies monitoring for case management and direct service programs, request and assure follow-up as necessary.

    3. Develop and update all departmental policies and procedures to assure compliance with SDS organizational and regulatory agency standards. Contributes to the development of other SDS organizational policies and procedures, as assigned.

    4. Standards and Regulations. Maintains familiarity and knowledge of standards and regulations applicable to residential operations and assures SDS program compliance. Participates in licensing and accreditation surveys, including developing and facilitating plans of correction.

    5. Assist or independently complete all incidents, which warrant investigations. These include all allegation of Mistreatment, Abuse, Neglect or Exploitation, any serious injuries of unknown origin, etc.

    6. Participate in administrative, staffing, GER and complaint analysis, placement, and other meetings as appropriate and/or requested.

    7. Assist in the support and operations of Therap.

    8. Establish communications with peers across the state as well as state department staff; attend statewide planning and coordination meetings.

    9. Incident Reporting. Responsible for reading and commenting on all incident reports. Ensure incident reports are completed in a timely manner. Ensure any issues raised in incident reports are addressed in a timely manner, and prior to passing on incident report to Executive Director. Reporting to CDPHE any incidents, which require reporting.

    10. Have a good working knowledge of all Federal, and State rules and regulations as well as SDS policies and procedures. These include OSHA and DOL laws and requirements.

    11. Complete requirements of “Agency Monitoring Plan”.

    12. Participate with staff in the development of our Annual Plan and program goals.

    13. Monitor program goals and objectives and report status to the Executive Director.

    14. Develop community connections for the benefit of SDS’s programs.

    15. Maintain positive public relations with parents, other agencies, individuals and the community at large.

    16. Coordinates specialized support services: Nursing, Behavioral, Nutritional, etc.

    17. In the Absence of the E.D., will assign investigations to occur as needed in lieu of allegations of MANE.

    18. In the Absence of the E.D., will accept agency complaints and assign managers to follow up on such complaints as needed.

    19. Will coordinate and chair SDS’ Safety Committee to assure that Safety is kept a priority at SDS.

    20. Will act as SDS’ liaison to consumers who request mediation. As the liaison, the Director will inform all parties of the availability of mediation as needed and will coordinate mediation as needed.

    21. Acting as Executive Director in Absence of E.D.
