Physician Practice Operations Director directs administrative and clinical services for one or more physician office sites. Establishes standards for the units and monitors the quality of patient care. Being a Physician Practice Operations Director is responsible for overseeing operations of all practice units and ensuring units operate according to established standards. Duties:
- Review and analyze medical records to ensure accurate coding and billing
- Assign appropriate diagnosis codes (ICD-10) and procedure codes (CPT)
- Verify patient information and insurance coverage for billing purposes
- Submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on any denials or rejections
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve billing issues on unpaid claims
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Stay updated on changes in coding guidelines and regulations
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in medical billing or related field preferred
- Certification in medical billing and coding (such as CPC or CCS) strongly preferred
- Proficiency in ICD-10 and CPT coding systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Familiarity with insurance guidelines and reimbursement processes
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing procedures
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
