  • MHC Healthcare is seeking a Physician Recruiter to join the Human Resources team at the Marana Main Health Center, located in the heart of Marana, AZ. The Physician Recruiter plans, coordinates, implements, and directs all activities for the recruitment and hiring of physicians and advanced practice clinicians for all clinical locations on behalf of MHC Healthcare.
    MHC Healthcare is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC), with 17 sites in Tucson and Pima County. Our mission is to improve our Community by providing exceptional, whole-person healthcare.

    The following qualifications are required:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, business, or a related field
    • 3 years’ experience in full-cycle recruitment of clinicians
    • Experience utilizing Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and automated applicant tracking systems
    • Current Arizona driver’s license with clean driving record and proof of current vehicle insurance (39-month MVR will be run by MHC)
    The following qualifications are preferred:
    • Human Resources experience in healthcare environment
    • Experience with Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) or look-alike
    • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or other nationally recognized professional HR certification
    Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered if applicable and must be directly related to the functions and body of knowledge required to successfully perform the job.

    This position has the following supervisory responsibility:
    May occasionally provide direction, training, or guidance to others.

    The ideal candidate will also possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong phone skills and willingness to make outbound sourcing calls from physician leads, following up on leads from conferences, website/job board leads.
    • Ability to work flexible hours to include early mornings, evenings and weekends to accomplish assigned recruiting goals.
    • Must be able to demonstrate strict confidentiality.
    • Excellent project management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and produce quality results.
    • Excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills with emphasis on responsiveness, building trust, mutual respect, and courtesy.
    • Demonstrates cultural competence and commitment to supporting and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion through work performance and professional interactions.
    Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Works with appropriate management staff to identify physician staffing needs and develop recruiting plans for specific vacancies.
    • Generates and develops leads through print advertisement, cold calling, referrals, mass mailings, internet sources, email blasts, career events, receptions and conventions.
    • Establishes on-going relationships with medical providers.
    • Obtains references, new hire paperwork and coordinates interviews and site visits with hiring managers and candidates.
    • Prepares monthly reports for goals, contacts, interviews and hires. Submits reports to Chief People Officer.
    • Initiates and completes the J1 Visa and H1-b workers permit process along with J1 contract negotiation. Works in collaboration with immigration attorney.
    • Initiates and assists clinicians through the waiver, extensions of H1b or permanent residency certifications, in collaboration with immigration attorney.
    • Recruits full-time and part-time physicians and advanced practice clinicians within appropriate time frames based on recruitment needs of MHC and clinical sites/programs.
    • Investigates and develops marketing techniques to improve recruiting and MHC’s brand recognition, including techniques geared toward private practitioners, fellowship programs, and third-year residents, as needed.
    • Collaborates with Medical Directors, Human Resources and executive leadership to successfully recruit physicians and advanced practice clinicians for all MHC clinical sites/programs.
    • Processes National Data Bank Inquiries for all clinician candidates under consideration for interviews.
    • Screens candidate qualifications and professional history to ensure the candidates’ experience and professional objectives align with MHC Mission, Vision, and Values.
    • Manages locum tenens hiring and locum tenens agencies.
    • May assist in recruiting for other high level positions in the organization as needed.
