A vital member of the Advancement team, the successful candidate will be responsible for fulfilling key priorities in the McPherson College strategic plan Community by Design 2.0. A leading priority is the #BulldogPride alumni and constituent engagement initiative. This position offers a tremendous opportunity to work with a constituency energized by a $500 million matching gift challenge. Through personal visits, mentoring programs, events and partnerships, the Director of Alumni and Constituent Relations will ensure a strong foundation of connected and involved constituents. Additionally, the role provides leadership for the college’s Alumni Board and develops strong content for Advancement-related communications. Strengthening relationships with the college’s founding denomination, the Church of the Brethren, as well as other faith-based groups, is important. This position supervises student ambassadors and also leads projects that build awareness of philanthropy among current students.
Experience: Prior higher education background and/or work in not-for-profit constituent relations, marketing, communications or development is very desirable.
Education: A baccalaureate degree, master’s degree preferred.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communications skills are necessary.
Other Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office products is required. Work with constituent relationship management software and digital mentoring platforms is preferred.
Occasional nights and weekend work will be required. Light out-of-state travel is also part of this position.
