Physician Residency Coordinator oversees the administration and scheduling of the physician residency program of a healthcare organization. Coordinates and facilitates the activities of the physician residents and provides the resources necessary to fulfill curriculum requirements. Being a Physician Residency Coordinator ensures physician activities comply with governing bodies such as the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or other applicable regulations. Supports the recruitment and selection process of resident physicians. Additionally, Physician Residency Coordinator administers and maintains a system or database to manage schedules and physician performance metrics. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Physician Residency Coordinator occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Job Description:
The Residency Program Coordinator acts as the central point of contact and support for the residents. This position is responsible for routine and recurring office tasks relevant to the proper and daily functioning of the residency programs including: assisting with on-boarding and orientation of residents, maintaining resident schedules for call, rotation, and didactics, answering phones, maintaining office files, and other general office administrative duties as assigned. This position provides support to the GME Supervisor, Program Directors, and Faculty. The GME Supervisor and Program Directors may provide specific direction on new assignments and review of work. Schedules appointments and informs patients of test preparations.
Actively work to increase and advance knowledge base; utilize time management strategies to perform and complete duties; demonstrate compliance with institutional policies and standards, as well as those set forth by the hospitals accrediting organizations; participates as needed and/or required in educational classes, training or techniques.
Job Qualifications:
Exerting up to 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible up to 10 pounds amount of force often.
