The role you’ll contribute:

The Nurse Residency Coordinator has responsibilities for the Nurse Residency Program at AdventHealth Ocala. The Nurse Residency Coordinator will also oversee and manage the Transition Nurse Programs, and the international nurse new-hires. The focus is on the daily requirements of these programs including the management of compliance with accreditation requirements, supporting program recruitment, management of resident needs and assisting with preceptor selection and orientation schedules, monthly lectures for the 12-month series, and any unit / departmental recognition and celebration activities. This position is responsible for supporting during the recruiting, interviewing, on-boarding and weekly rounding with nurses and leaders while in the designated time-frame of all program

• Comprehends training program regulations according to the appropriate accrediting body and integrates those requirements, such as, specifically, Infection Prevention standards and best practice interventions; and for example other content such as Self-care Concepts; Managing Airways and content critical to the first / novice year of proactive) into the daily and monthly activities of the program. Requirements include monitoring resident compliance with academic requirements, compiling and submitting benchmark and progress reports.
• Organizes and reviews remedial plans when needed, keeps individual files on all program nurses to include their evaluations from various rotations, both formative and summative evaluations.
• The Nurse Residency Coordinator works primarily as a liaison between nursing CNO, AVPs Directors, Managers, ANMs, nursing staff, hospital staff and student community on behalf of the nurses in the programs by efficiently relaying information in a clear and concise manner; this is of the utmost importance.
• Has the ability, in collaboration with TA Team, to suggest modifications and edits to content for residency web sites and other published recruitment material for the Nurse Residency and Transitional Nurse Programs, and any other nurse program that the Nurse Residency Coordinate assumes responsibility.
• Has ability to collect accurate data for program evaluation; it is a necessary requirement, as the coordinator is the main point of information concerning the Nurse Residency Program and other nurse programs (Transition and International).

• Bachelor’s in Nursing degree
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
