Physician Residency Coordinator oversees the administration and scheduling of the physician residency program of a healthcare organization. Coordinates and facilitates the activities of the physician residents and provides the resources necessary to fulfill curriculum requirements. Being a Physician Residency Coordinator ensures physician activities comply with governing bodies such as the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or other applicable regulations. Supports the recruitment and selection process of resident physicians. Additionally, Physician Residency Coordinator administers and maintains a system or database to manage schedules and physician performance metrics. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Physician Residency Coordinator occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Responsibilities:
Managing the ACGME application and certification process
Day-to-day oversight of the OB/GYN residency program
Curriculum development and maintenance
Maintain ongoing certification and compliance with ACGME RRC requirements
Provide leadership and guidance to residents
Be a role model of professionalism
Clinical Teaching and Supervision of Residents and medical students
Collaboration with OB/GYN undergraduate medical education (UME) leadership to enhance student education and promote residents as educators
Active engagement in and promotion of scholarly activity amongst the residents and core faculty
Ensure the program’s compliance with institutional policies and procedures and ACGME requirements
Working with other departments and other clinical sites to develop and maintain appropriate clinical and educational rotations for the residents

Minimum Requirements:
MD or DO Degree and Board Certification in ABOG or AOBOG
3 years of clinical and/ or administrative educational experience
Evidence of sustained commitment to resident and/or medical school education (teaching portfolio), and evidence of excellence and effectiveness as an educator (evaluations)
Experience as an assistant/associate PD or site director, or equivalent educational experience
Clinical responsibilities within the previous 3 years
Evidence of active engagement in scholarly activity
Must have or be eligible for Pennsylvania medical licensure
Ability to achieve full and unrestricted hospital privileges at Geisinger Health System hospitals
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Ability to travel as needed
