Physician Residency Coordinator oversees the administration and scheduling of the physician residency program of a healthcare organization. Being a Physician Residency Coordinator ensures physician activities comply with governing bodies such as the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or other applicable regulations. Supports the recruitment and selection process of resident physicians. Additionally, Physician Residency Coordinator administers and maintains a system or database to manage schedules and physician performance metrics. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, the Fellowship Coordinator will oversee the organization and management of all scholarly activity and ensure a seamless and enriching educational experience.

    Essential Job Outcomes

    • Direct and Prioritize Program Activities: Oversee the daily operations of the clinical fellowship program, ensuring efficient organization and prioritization of fellows' activities. Monitor progress and compliance with deadlines.
    • Applicant Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for fellowship applicants, providing timely and helpful information.
    • Recruitment and Onboarding: Streamline the process of fellowship and trainee recruitment, ensuring a smooth and effective onboarding experience.
    • Evaluation Management: Oversee and document the evaluation process for both fellowship participants and faculty, ensuring thorough and timely assessments.
    • Educational Event Coordination: Organize and coordinate educational symposiums, events, and conferences, both within the hospital and affiliated clinics.
    • Scholarly Activities Management: Coordinate scholarly activities and curriculum for fellowship programs. Act as the main liaison for speakers and programs and ensure a high-quality educational experience.
    • CME Credits and Records: Secure Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits for educational events and meticulously maintain associated records.
    • Community Outreach Coordination: Lead and coordinate the institute's community outreach efforts, enhancing public engagement and participation.
    • Accreditation Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with ACGME fellowship requirements to maintain program accreditation.
    • Evaluation Process Coordination: Facilitate the completion and review of rotational, semi-annual, and annual evaluations for the fellowship program, optimizing feedback processes.
    • Data Collection and Reporting: Efficiently collect and report on fellowship evaluation data, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in feedback mechanisms.
    • Professional Development Participation: Engage in essential teleconferences, on-site and off-site meetings, including participation in significant industry conferences like the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons Annual Meeting.
    • Flexible Responsibilities: Undertake additional duties as needed, demonstrating adaptability and commitment to the program's success.

    Experience

    • Relevant Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a role related to this job category. Prior experience with Continuing Medical Education (CME) agencies is highly desirable.
    • Technical Proficiency: Strong command of MS Office suite, adept at conducting Internet research, and a quick learner for mastering organization-specific software.
    • Project Management: Proven capability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize tasks effectively, and manage multiple projects simultaneously without sacrificing quality.

    Education

    Bachelor of Science or Arts in Sciences degree preferred. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance as travel to physician offices and hospital locations is required for specific job duties.
