Physician Residency Coordinator oversees the administration and scheduling of the physician residency program of a healthcare organization. Coordinates and facilitates the activities of the physician residents and provides the resources necessary to fulfill curriculum requirements. Being a Physician Residency Coordinator ensures physician activities comply with governing bodies such as the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or other applicable regulations. Supports the recruitment and selection process of resident physicians. Additionally, Physician Residency Coordinator administers and maintains a system or database to manage schedules and physician performance metrics. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Physician Residency Coordinator occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Responsibilities

    • Provides excellent service to both internal and external customers by applying best practices and standard operating procedures.
    • Prepares correspondence, documents, reports and other materials which may be moderately complex or confidential, sometimes requiring independent judgment.
    • Schedules appointments for department staff.
    • Participates in department projects of moderate scope and complexity.
    • May provide assistance in training and orientation of colleagues.
    • May assist in the completion of reimbursement requests for assigned staff.
    • Note: Regular, reliable and consistent attendance is an essential job function.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION:

    • High School Diploma or Equivalent

    SKILLS:

    • Must complete Ambassador Program within first 12 months of employment.

    EXPERIENCE:

    • 2 years administrative experience preferred.

    MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Sitting for extended periods Constantly (67-100%)
    • Talking on the phone/in person Constantly
    • Typing on a computer keyboard Constantly
    • Standing/walking Occasionally (0-33%)
