New Mexico Rheumatology is looking for a Certified Medical Assiant with a backround in prior authorizations. The primary focus of the Prior Authorization Specialist will be verifying patient eligibility, obtaining prior authorizations, and preparing patients for a variety of infusion or injectiable medications/services. The MA must also able to provide support to the provider, nurses, and staff by assiting in the clinics needs. This includes triaging patients, assisting the provider with treatments or procedures, and assisting with clerical functions.
The ideal canidate has a comprehensive understanding of medical terminology and insurance/billing processes. The Prior Authorization Specialist must also be able to work independently and effectively communicate with patients, providers, and insurance companies.
