Job Summary:
We are seeking a Rheumatology trained physician to join our healthcare team, dedicated to providing high-quality patient care.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- Clinical Experience: 1-3 years of clinical experience in an outpatient setting.
- Patient-Centered Approach: Exhibit a patient-centered approach toward ensuring a positive patient experience.
- Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication skills.
- Interest in Population Health: Display an interest in Population Health.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Evaluation:
- Review patient's history and perform a physical examination.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and provide appropriate treatment and patient care.
- Diagnostic Tests:
- Recommend and order lab tests, including X-rays of the joints, to determine the extent of illness or help diagnose conditions.
- Specialized Diagnosis and Treatment:
- Diagnose disorders and diseases of the musculoskeletal system and immune system.
- Diagnose and treat rheumatic disorders of the skeletal system, muscles, and joints.
- Treat patients with rheumatic diseases, including but not limited to lupus, tendonitis, arthritis, myositis, scleroderma, and osteoporosis.
- Prescription and Management:
- Prescribe anti-inflammatory drugs and other medications.
- Formulate ongoing treatment and disease management plans.
- Referral and Collaboration:
- Refer to occupational or physical therapy as required.
- Participate in medical staff educational programs and meetings.
Qualifications:
- Degree: Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), or foreign equivalent.
- Residency: Completion of three-year postgraduate medical training from a U.S. accredited residency program in Internal Medicine.
- Fellowship: Completion of a Rheumatology Fellowship.
- Certification: Board Eligible/Board Certified in Rheumatology.
- Licensure: Candidate must possess or be eligible for a New York State License.
- Registration: Be eligible for DEA registration.
- Reimbursement: Be eligible for Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement.
- Certification: BLS or ACLS certification required but both strongly preferred.
- Communication Skills: Must possess strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Technology Comfort: Comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft Office.
Medical Office Hours of Operation:
- Monday-Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
- Thursday: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
