Physician - Sports Medicine examines and treats sport or athletic related injuries. Prescribes and administers patient medications. Being a Physician - Sports Medicine monitors patient during sport events or physical activity and performs tests and prescribes medication and treatment, as necessary. Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment. Additionally, Physician - Sports Medicine requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director. Physician - Sports Medicine's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     Patient Population: Primarily musculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions, with a mix of sport-specific rehab, joint and spine management, and treatment for neurologic, dizziness, and balance issues.

    License & Experience

     

    Requirements: 

    • Graduate (current or pending) from an accredited physical therapy program
    • Active or pending state physical therapist license  

     

    Preferences: 

    • Manual therapy background or interest in pursuing a manual therapy clinical tract preferred. 
    • Dry needling training or interest in pursuing.
