Position Overview:
The Orthopedic Medical Assistant Scribe plays a vital role in supporting orthopedic healthcare providers by ensuring accurate documentation of patient encounters and assisting in clinical tasks. This role demands a combination of medical knowledge, organizational skills, and attention to detail to enhance patient care and streamline clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Documentation Assistance:
• Accurately transcribe patient history, physical examinations, diagnostic tests, and treatment plans during clinic visits.
• Maintain electronic medical records (EMR) by entering data promptly and ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Assist orthopedic providers in documenting procedures, prescriptions, and follow-up instructions.
• Patient Care Support:
• Assist with patient intake, including recording vital signs, medical history, and reason for visit.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
• Educate patients on treatment plans, rehabilitation exercises, and post-operative care as directed by the orthopedic provider.
• Clinical Duties:
• Collaborate with the orthopedic team to facilitate patient flow and optimize clinic efficiency.
• Prepare examination rooms and equipment, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for patient visits.
• Assist providers during orthopedic procedures, surgeries, and casting applications as needed.
• Communication and Coordination:
• Serve as a liaison between patients, providers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Communicate effectively with patients to address inquiries, schedule appointments, and relay test results.
• Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate referrals, imaging studies, and specialty consultations.
• Quality Assurance and Compliance:
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and clinic operations.
• Assist in inventory management, including stocking supplies and ensuring equipment maintenance.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification or associate degree in medical assisting preferred.
• Previous experience in a medical setting, particularly orthopedics, is advantageous.
• Proficiency in medical terminology, EMR systems, and basic clinical procedures.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.58 - $21.17 per hour
