Being a Physician - Sports Medicine monitors patient during sport events or physical activity and performs tests and prescribes medication and treatment, as necessary. Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment. Additionally, Physician - Sports Medicine requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director. Physician - Sports Medicine's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. § Charge entry for various visits
§ Discussions with patients regarding account balances
§ Collecting patient payments via telephone
This position must employ critical thinking, confidentiality, troubleshooting techniques, immediate response to the needs of our patients (physicians, administration, or co-workers) and effective communication with co-workers, physicians, administration and patients.
This position must have knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes.
This position will also have various clerical duties, such as filing in patient charts, copying of orders, demographics, etc.
