Physician - Urology examines and diagnoses disorders and diseases of the genitourinary tract and organs. Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment. Being a Physician - Urology recommends and orders tests to determine extent of illness or help diagnose condition. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Additionally, Physician - Urology requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director. Physician - Urology's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
  • Urology Associates of Cape Cod, P.C.
  • Hyannis, MA PART_TIME
  • Required Experience and Skills:

    • Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) required
    • Active certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in appropriate specialty required
    • 3 Years of prior experience as a practicing Diagnostic Medical Sonographer required
    • Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography desirable
    • Ability to work cohesively with physicians, clinical and administrative staff
    • Superior interpersonal skills

    Major Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Perform all requested sonographic examinations as ordered by the physician which include but are not limited to the kidneys, bladder, scrotum, prostate and penis
    • Assist physicians with prostate biopsies, fusion biopsies, hydrocele drainage, etc.
    • Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images
    • Use independent judgement during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathological findings
    • Analyze sonograms, synthesizes sonographic information and medical history, and communicate findings to the appropriate physician
    • Assume responsibility for the safety and well-being of all patients in the sonographic area
    • Maintain ultrasound equipment and work area, report equipment failure to immediate supervisor and maintain adequate supplies
    • Effectively communicate with supervisors, co-workers, subordinates and patients by telephone, in writing or in person; record and maintain patient records; organize plan and prioritize in a fast paced environment, identify information by categorizing, estimating and recognizing differences or similarities or changes in circumstances
    • Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor

    Physical Demands and Work Environment:

    • Requires frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 30 pounds unassisted, including patients when required
    • Work requires prolonged standing and walking
    • Adequate physical ability, including sufficient manual dexterity, to perform the requisite health care services
    • Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, and standing, walking, squatting, and sitting with some heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift
    • Visual acuity must be adequate to perform job duties, including visual examination of patient and reading information from printed sources and computer screens

    Job Type: Part-time

    Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour

    Expected hours: 24 per week
