    **************************** DUTIES *************************************

    • You will install, modify, repair new/existing high-pressure piping systems and equipment; steam-heating, steam generation, and hydraulic systems; steam generators; flash and expansion tanks; condensate, vacuum, circulating pumps, and radiators.
    • You will remove, clean, replace, pack, and seal defective parts of utility, supply, and disposal systems such as traps, sections of broken tile pipe, sewer lines, and leaking drains.
    • You will install, maintain, and repair a variety of heating and air conditioning units to include: oil lines, air lines, water lines, steam lines, valves, pipes, flexible hose connections, or other related parts.
    • You will trace system malfunctions and replace fixtures such as safety devices, heating elements, valves, strainers, coils, and other related minor controls.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED FOR EACH LEVEL:

    Journeymen Level I (WG-08):

    • 2 yrs experience installing piping systems & equipment;
    • Basic knowledge of buidling plans, blueprints, piping system layouts & installation;
    • Basic skill & experience to install and repair high-pressure piping systems & equipment;
    • Basic knowledge of transformers less than 600 volts;
    • Experience working emergency calls and after hour call-backs;

    Journeymen Level II (WG-10):

    • 5 years’ installing piping systems & equipment;
    • Working knowledge of buidling plans, blueprints, piping system layouts & installation;
    • Journey-level skill & experience to independently install, modify, and repair high-pressure piping systems & equipment;
    • Experience working emergency calls and after hour call-backs;
