Pipefitter assembles and repairs pipe systems of various shapes, sizes, and pressures. Ensures proper placement, alignment, and operation according to blueprints and instructions. Being a Pipefitter requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Pipefitter works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Requirements
Qualified Junior Pipefitters should have most, if not all, of the following skills and experience :
- Good basic math skills ( shop math - basic fractions, decimals, reading a tape measure, etc.) and solid skills using basic tools.
- Skills reading blueprints is a benefit, but training is available.
- Manufacturing, CNC Machining, assembly facility pipefitting, or any experience in a manufacturing environment is a benefit.
- Must be able to complete standard pre-hire checks including background, drug screen, etc.
Benefits
Junior Pipefitter rates are anticipated to be in the $18-22 / hour range based on each candidate’s experience and education.
