About the Position

W-S Mechanical Group, a subsidiary of W-S Companies, is seeking a Journeyman Pipefitter who will perform various general manual labor tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• This is a 100% travel job
• Install industrial piping systems, including chilled water, hot water, steam, condensate, condensed water
• Must be versed with multiple materials of pipe (Stainless, Carbon Steel, Copper, RIGID etc.)
• Must be able to draw line schematics, read blueprints and other pipe drawings
• Cutting or boring holes in structures
• Fabricate pipe supports
• Troubleshooting problems
• Inspecting, examining, or testing installed systems or pipelines
• Performs other duties as required

What does it take to work for W-S Companies?

• Three or more years' experience
• Demonstrated industrial construction/maintenance work history and experience
• Knowledge of pipefitter equipment and power tools
• Must be able to work overtime and weekends, if required
• Must be 18 years of age
• Must have acceptable ID, and pass a drug screen
• High school diploma or GED
• Possession of a TWIC card is a plus but not necessary
• Possession of an NCCER certificate is a plus but not necessary
• Understand verbal and written instructions, basic math, and safety skills
• Ability to lift, push or pull objects up to 50 Ibs. on occasion
• May reach above shoulder height and below the waist frequently
• May stoop, kneel, or bend on occasion
• Move in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas
• Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry, or feel objects frequently
• Will climb and move in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas while maintaining balance
• Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions
