With this foundation, we began to innovate new approaches to custom furnace design focusing on keeping costs low and working with both new and rebuilt furnace equipment. Diablo now holds an unprecedented place in the market as one of the only heat-treating solution providers in the United States able to complete custom furnace design.Job DescriptionPrepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, tools, and materials.Lays out, assembles, and installs pipe systems.Selects type and size of pipe, and related materials and equipment to include supports and hangers.Cuts pipe, using saws, pipe cutter, hammer and chisel, cutting torch, and pipe cutting machine. Threads pipe, using pipe threading machine.Assembles and installs variety of metal and nonmetal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including iron, steel, copper, and plastic.Secures pipes to structure with brackets, clamps, and hangers, using hand tools and power toolsPositions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.QualificationsQualifications and Education RequirementsProven experience as assembler/pipefitterTechnical knowledge and ability to read blueprints, drawings etc.Ability in using tools (e.g. pipe wrenches, clamps)Good understanding of quality control principlesExcellent hand-eye coordination and physical conditionHigh school diploma; Higher degree from a technical school will be appreciated.SkillsAbility to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.Ability to work independently w/minimal supervision.Ability to maintain confidential information.Ability to thrive in a critical thinking environment.Excellent time management and organizational skills.Demonstrated problem-solving techniques.Excellent customer service skills.Excellent written and verbal communications skills.Additional InformationAbility to work weekend and holidays as required.Subject to pre-hire physical and drug screening.EEO Statement: Machine Tool Builders and Diablo Furnaces LLC are equal opportunity employers that evaluate qualified applicants without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age, marital status, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or other characteristics protected by law.Individuals who need a reasonable accommodation because of a disability for any part of the employment process will have the opportunity to request accommodation during the application process.
