    Salary range for this position is: $48,972 - $65,880 per year (depending on experience)

As Pipefitter and Steamfitter, you will be responsible for being a key member of the team that maintains the campus facilities. In this role, you will be serving as a maintenance specialist servicing equipment from basic plumbing fixtures to boilers to backflows.

    What you will be working on:
    • Maintenance and repair of steam and heating systems and such equipment as boilers, radiators, oil burners, pumps, traps, and valves.
    • Maintenance and repair of pipes, storm sewers, sewage mains and laterals, valves, drains, faucets, lavatories, sinks, gates, hydrants, and coolers.
    • Performing shop work such as disassembling valves and equipment, replacing worn parts, and reassembling and testing equipment;
    • Cleaning, maintaining, and repairing power and hand tools
    • Estimating materials and time needed to complete jobs
    • Working in a team environment under direction of Maintenance Supervisor, leading and instructing helpers

    What you bring as a candidate: (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience)
    • Proficient knowledge and competency in pipe fitting for steam applications of 150 lb steam system; able to service and repair steam reducing stations, including reducing valves, pilot duty valves, isolation valves, and all associated steam traps.
    • Proficient in using pipe-threader for steam, water and gas.
    • Certified gas mechanic. Level 4 Boiler license.
    • Four years of journey-level experience plumbing and pipefitting skilled trades, including experience in heating and air-conditioning systems, mechanical and electrical systems.
    • Backflow Assembly Tester certification preferred.

    Physical Requirements:

    Ability to perform range of physical motions, exerting up to 50 pounds; lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds; standing, walking, sitting for long periods of time, kneeling, squatting, and stooping; and traversing up and down stairs.
