Pipeline Maintenance Manager oversees the repair and maintenance of pipelines. Verifies pipeline safety. Being a Pipeline Maintenance Manager schedules repairs and maintenance. Coordinates with other management staff to ensure efficiency in preventative maintenance and new pipeline installation. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following represents the majority of the duties performed by the position, but is not meant to be all inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary.
1. Complies with DOT and OSHA health, safety and environmental requirements and follows safety philosophy and procedures developed by the Company including: applicable environmental, health and safety rules, procedures, and accepted safe work practices, the use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems, and the reporting of workplace hazards and injury or illness arising from workplace activities; observes the workplace to identify conditions or behaviors that should be corrected and takes appropriate action.
2. Ensures product receipts and deliveries at the terminal.
3. Operates and monitors facility pump units, valves, provers, tanks, piping, and other station equipment via Human Machine Interface (HMI) and/or control panel and conducts routine operations such as meter proving, quality control sampling, station operation, pigging, tank gauging, etc. and special projects as assigned.
4. Performs periodic inspections and routine maintenance on pipeline system and facilities.
5. Completes administrative duties, maintenance records, service reports, and other required documentation.
6. Coordinates operations and maintenance tasks with control center personnel.
7. Performs housekeeping, maintenance, and repair duties around terminals, buildings, pipeline right of way, and station facilities.
8. Locates and marks underground pipeline as required.
REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
· An Associate’s degree or equivalent in experience is required. Two years of work experience in operations, mechanical, and/or preventive maintenance is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Ability to actively engage in safe behavior and understand and follow the principles and methods related to pipeline and workplace safety as established by the Company.
· Knowledge of emergency and safety procedures, policies procedures, equipment operating parameters, and all applicable DOT, EPA, FERC, DHS and OSHA requirements.
· Knowledge of system operation, pipeline and facility layout, and equipment capability.
· Ability to use computers and applicable software.
· Ability to use Human Machine Interface (HMI)
· Ability to work without direct supervision to accomplish goals and meet schedules.
· Knowledge of math, general science, hydraulics and strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
· Ability to think logically and remain calm in stressful situations.
· Knowledge of equipment, processes, and physical ability to accomplish the task as assigned.
· Ability to drive and safely maneuver company vehicles.
· Ability to prepare and analyze data and figures.
· Ability to use a variety of tools and equipment including but not limited to Flow Computer, Tank Gauging, Sampling Equipment, Hydrometer, Line Locator, Probe Bar, Water Pumps, Fire Pump, Electronic Control Devices, Pumps, Drills, Quality Control Lab Equipment and Tapping Machine.
· Ability to complete visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, operation of machines (including inspection), using measurement devices, assembling or fabricating of parts at distances close to the eyes.
· Ability to effectively work and cooperate with supervisors, co-workers and vendors.
· Ability to follow corporate policies and the directions of supervisors.
· Ability to refrain from causing or contributing to the disruption of the workplace.
