Position Summary: The Operations Manager is responsible for the long and short-range operational, and technical strategies. This individual is the Management Representative for the ISO certification.
The Operations Manager is responsible for providing the General Manager and other senior management staff with current information about the production and installation schedule and resources needed both capital and personnel. The person in this position must have extensive knowledge of resource techniques, customer statistics, knowledge about the company and its mission to include both short and long term goals. Also responsible for the completion of specific work projects assigned by the General Manager relative to the operation of total company or specific customer services.
The major challenge of this position is to identify and maximize processes that reduce production costs and minimize production costs while integrating customer demand with facility capacity. Close relationships between Lincoln Electric and the business community, professional societies and civic organizations must be developed and maintained.
The major challenges to this position are coordinating the objectives of Lincoln Electric with the sometimes conflicting demands of customers, staff, and vendors and Lincoln Electrics departments; maintains high staff morale and identifies and resolves internal problems and protects the best interests of Lincoln Electric.
This person has the authority to establish operational policies and procedures; hire and terminate employees assigned to the Production; to counsel employees; purchase equipment and services as approved by the budget; recommend operation strategies to the General Manager.
Decisions that must be referred to the General Manager are: purchases of equipment not previously approved in the budget; signing of all contracts and agreements; additional staff not previously authorized and all major policy changes.
