Maintain the Nursing Department Schedule
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Creates and maintains the schedules of all nurses, certified nursing assistants and unit helpers.
Administers calls out, vacations and leaves and fills schedule holes in schedule per union
bargaining unit.
Determines if and when staff should be mandated
Directs calls and takes messages appropriately in a professional manner.
Performs clerical functions for the Director of Nursing
Prepare forms, lists, rosters, and reports as needed, including daily sheets
Creates and tracks attendance disciplines.
Coordinates interviews for nurses, certified nursing assistants and unit helpers
Completes payroll edits for Nursing Administration staff in Time and Attendance.
Communicates with transportation scheduler to provide staff for transport
Attends in-services and meetings as required.
Performs other related duties or miscellaneous duties as directed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education: High School graduate, Associate Degree or higher preferred.
Knowledge in medical terminology.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
Ability to establish effective communication skills (oral and written)
Able to maintain confidential information.
Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset.
Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.
Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies
